There’s Something About Kim
Feel like doing something different but not really sure where to start? What about making a subtle nail statement with a Reverse French Mani, as created by none other than our favourite nail technician, Kim Treacy. One of the UK’s top nail technicians, Kim tends to the talons (and the nicely squ-oval and neat short nails) of celebrities including Florence and Nicole Sherzinger, as well as working with the glossiest of magazines every other day. It’s a hard life, but somebody has to do it.

Make your friends “nail-envious” by creating this look yourself. To achieve the reverse French, start by choosing a nail colour from our selection of Priti NYC nail polishes, created by our other favourite Kim - Kim D’Amato. (See the selection of Priti NYC nail polishes here).
To create a perfect curve at the bottom of the nail, follow these simple steps from Kim Treacy: Use file hole reinforcers (available at W.H. Smiths). Cut in half and stick over the half moon.
- Paint your nail using any colour and once dry, peel the sticker off.
- Dab the half moon with either a tooth pick or dotter using a lighter colour or glitter for some extra glamour.
- The Result? Super-fabulous nails in nano-seconds.

Go For Red

With only 1 day left until Red Nose Day, we can’t get enough of our favourite designer - Stella McCartney. Her exclusively designed t-shirts, as sported by Rihanna are selling like hot cakes at TK Maxx but it you can’t get your hands on one of these fund-raisers, what about painting your nails with some of these Priti NYC polishes - the only ones to be used backstage at Stella McCartney - and helping us raise money for Comic Relief. 10% of all purchases made up to the 15th March are being donated to this deserving charity. So spend, spend, spend!

SHINE ON!

It’s that time of year when skin is looking dull and we long for a bit of sunshine. We can’t do anything about the weather, but the good news is that the latest crop of illuminating powders and radiance boosters will perk up the palest complexion. Designed to make the skin look and feel silky soft, smooth and healthy – what’s not to love? One of our favourites is Wild About Beauty Rose Water Illuminating Serum, £22. Wear on its own or apply over your foundation. With light reflecting pearls, this serum revitalises, illuminates and brightens.

We’re also coveting Cheeky Cosmetics Fresh All-Over Glow, £10. This must-have mineral powder can be dusted on top of foundation or BB Cream for an instant rosy glow and even mixed with lip balm to create the prettiest lip tint.

Green Fingers
We couldn’t help but notice at London Fashion Week that the trend for green is continuing into autumn 2013. We’re especially loving the green nails seen at DAKS. Get the look by layering forest and spinach greens with a bit of glitter. Gorgeous! Too impatient to wait until winter to work your green fingers? Try Priti NYC Nail Polish in Devil’s Backbone, £8.95, created by Kim D’Amato, the manicurist behind the nails at Stella McCartney’s catwalk shows.

Tips From The Top
We have to admit that model Janini Milet is one of our favourite girls to work with. Not only is she incredibly witty, pretty and professional, but she loves nothing better than a good chat - and is always more than happy to reveal her favourite places to eat, shop - and what’s in her make-up bag. Being nosy, we love this. Playing the starring role in our Perfect Party story this month, Janini allowed us access to her address book and beauty secrets. What she’s got, we want!

“I’m originally from Brazil, and I love the sun - I need the warmth and the Vitamin D - but I am careful with my skin. In the city, I wear SPF 30 and on the beach, SPF 50. Make-up wise, I am a huge fan of MAC. For a night out, you can’t beat MAC Russian Red (or try Lily Lolo Lipstick in Desire). I find it’s also a real boost for self-confidence,” she reveals. A self-confessed foodie, she loves to eat out. “My favourite places are the Mango Room in Camden Town, any Jamie Oliver restaurant and Ceviche for Peruvian food - the best Pisco Sour - try it!” A girl after our own hearts.

FLOWER POWER

Since her appearance in Whip It, I’ve had soft spot for actress, Yummy Mummy and all-round wonder woman, Drew Barrymore. But now I’m feeling just a little bit envious after hearing that she has now added “cosmetics mogul” to her list of impressive roles with the launch of her make-up line, Flower Beauty for US giants, Walmart.
The products offer luxurious, high-performance formulas at affordable prices (nothing above $15! Bargain!). That’s because Barrymore decided to put the entire advertising budget into product development and creation, rather than spending it on promotion. With art deco-inspired packaging - the range is definitely highly desirable - and if you do find yourself Stateside, it’s one more reason to head for your nearest Walmart. I’ll be putting in my order!

Tsi-La Arrives at My Beauty Emporium
I’ve long been a fan of the gorgeous Annie Morton since her very first modelling days. Her look - edgy but womanly - was best captured by photographers like Ellen von Unwerth and Juergen Teller, who both portrayed Annie’s cool blonde beauty and naturalness. From Victoria’s Secret to Vogue, she has modelled for the world’s glossiest magazines and appeared in the most coveted advertising campaigns, but now she has turned her attention to the study of holistic aromatherapy and botanical formulations, with fellow organic advocate, Natalie Szapowalo.

Together, they founded Tsi~La Organics, their aim to offer the purest, natural perfumes (strictly no synthetics) which promote balance and well-being.The pair boast 40 years of combined experience in the fashion and beauty industries, which they have coupled with studies in aromatherapy, shiatsu and natural health to create their luxurious 100% natural and organic line fragrances. Our favourite? The best-selling Tsi-La Eau de Parfum in Misaki, £60, a tranquility boosting blend of French Lavender, warm tea, Sicilian bergamot, labdanum, green tea moss, Tahitian vanilla orchid and crushed mint, perfect for men and women. And we can’t wait for their skin care range which is currently in development. Bring it on!

Tried & Tested - by YOU!
We know a thing or two about beauty - but we take your opinions very seriously too - hence the introduction of Make-Up Mondays. Each Monday, on Twitter, we will share one of our favourite “tried and tested” products with you, invite you to follow and retweet it, and then we’ll pick a winner. The winner then gets the product to road-test. We are delighted to announce that last week’s winner is the gorgeous Becky Edwards (photographed below). And here is Becky’s review of Wild About Beauty Multi-Purpose Tint in 03 Maggie, £14.
“A brilliant multi-purpose tint, ideal for lips and cheeks. Apply it like a balm for a natural rosy hue. What I like about this product is that you can apply it to your lips by dabbing it on with your fingertips to create a subtle look, or continue layering the tint to create a darker shade. I also tried the tint on my cheekbones which gave me a lovely healthy glow - something I think is important for this time of year when your skin can look quite dull.” Try it for yourself - and let us know! See you next Make-Up Monday (if not before!). By Karena Callen.
